Spectra Long Lines
Characteristics:
- Stronger than wire
- Same elongation as wire
- Extremely light
- Highly abrasion resistant
- Non-rotational
All Heli-Hoyle Long Lines are pull tested on our in-house test
bed to 2-1/2 times the Working Load Limit. This sets the splices in
place and removes any excess stretch. All Heli-Hoyle Long lines
are dressed (cover installed) under Load to insure a proper fit
while in use. Your Long Line will be pulled to at least Working Load or
more. Heli-Hoyle Long
Lines leave the shop Helicopter Ready!
Cover
In 2000, we developed a system that separates the load bearing line
from the electrical wire. The hook & loop tape is sewn onto a
Polyester Tubing on either side. This forms a pocket for your electrical
wire and allows you to wrap the cover around your load bearing lineand
offers easy line inspection. End covers are installed to hold
cover at top end and to add protection at bottom end. These covers are
now an industry standard. See "Reasons to
cover your Long Line".
Certificate of Compliance
We will supply a Certificate of Compliance with each line upon
request. ID tag is attached to each line and Serial number recorded in
our logbook.
Electrical Wire
Our standard electrical wire is a 3/14. Also common are 2 wire and 6 wire. We will install the electrical
wire; you need to meet your
requirements. Different water buckets require different wiring.
Hardware
All Long Lines have H.D. Thimbles spliced each end and we will add any
other hardware that is required, i.e. Pear Rings, Master Rings or Swivel
Hook.
Standards
We follow J.24 Helicopter Synthetic Long-Line Guidelines 11/15/01
as set out by the U.S. Forest Service.
